Machinist I (CNC)

hirify.global is hiring for a specialty-materials machining role focused on graphite, silicon carbide, and related products.

What you will do

• Machine graphite, silicon carbide, and other specialty materials according to blueprints, customer specifications, and internal work instructions.
• Operate vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and centerless grinders, cup grinders, bandsaws, and other powered machine tools.
• Use hand tools, precision measuring equipment, desktop computers, and machine-control systems.
• Perform machine setups, including initial setups for new parts, and operate equipment prepared by more experienced operators.
• Complete customer jobs while following safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing guidelines.
• Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mathematics and precision-measurement skills, with the ability to read machine drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of machining methods and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform visual inspections, handle materials responsibly, and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work any shift, lift and move up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
• Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment.
