Manager, Industrial Engineering (Retail)

Location: Hybrid role based at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts; Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Travel to store locations and distribution centers may be required.

Salary: $128,500–$164,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement process improvements that increase sales conversion, basket size, member retention, productivity, and profitability.
• Analyze staffing models, checkout efficiency, inventory flow, merchandising execution, order fulfillment, and digital purchasing journeys.
• Lead time and motion studies, labor standards development, workflow reengineering, and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile methodologies to improve speed, accuracy, throughput, and member satisfaction.
• Present recommendations and cost-benefit or ROI analyses to senior leadership while guiding change management and implementation.
• Manage engineers, analysts, and a cross-department project portfolio while ensuring delivery, budget adherence, and measurable KPI impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in retail operations, digital commerce, or consulting focused on process improvement and sales optimization.
• Experience leading initiatives in grocery, big-box, or warehouse club environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Tableau, and project management platforms such as MS Project, Asana, or Jira.
• Experience with labor standards, workforce management systems, and omnichannel retail analytics.
• Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
