Payroll Analyst (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $83,000–$130,000 annually, depending on compensation tier, level, role, and location; equity and bonus offered.

What you will do

• Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll in Rippling, including hires, terminations, pay changes, off-cycle payments, garnishments, and retroactive adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll registers with HRIS, benefits, and financial data before submission.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, People, and the Senior Payroll Specialist to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate payroll inputs.
• Support multi-state tax withholding setup, registrations, year-end payroll, W-2s, W-2c corrections, and ACA reporting.
• Maintain payroll systems and accurate data flows into Accounting, including Rippling and Deel.
• Respond to tax notices, unemployment claims, audit requests, and maintain payroll SOPs, controls, and process documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2–3 years of payroll experience, ideally including multi-state or international payroll.
• Working knowledge of payroll tax concepts, including FICA and FUTA/SUTA.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and lookups, and/or Google Sheets.
• Strong reconciliation, communication, judgment, and attention-to-detail skills when handling confidential compensation, payroll, and personal data.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with Rippling and/or Deel.
• Experience with VBA in Excel or Apps Script in Google Sheets.
• Experience supporting payroll in a high-growth, venture-backed SaaS environment.
• Experience with international payroll processing.
