Head of Global Procure to Pay (P2P) / Accounts Payable (AP)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, USA; in-person work three days a week or more with flexibility to work from home or remotely on other days.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Lead the global accounts payable and procure-to-pay function across US, EMEA, and APAC entities.
• Manage invoice intake, approval workflows, payment schedules, employee expenses, vendor onboarding, and supplier relationships.
• Oversee a geographically dispersed AP team, including coaching, workload distribution, resource planning, and performance management.
• Maintain SOX controls, segregation of duties, audit readiness, tax compliance, payment accuracy, and fraud prevention.
• Drive process standardization, e-invoicing, workflow automation, touchless processing, KPI development, and system implementation.
• Prepare performance reporting and support financial close, accrual analysis, aging reviews, budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Substantial accounts payable experience, including at least 7 years in a global management role.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across the US, UK, and APAC.
• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes, global payments, multi-currency transactions, and regional compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar, plus AP automation tools.
• Experience with SOX compliance, internal controls, 1099 reporting, VAT/GST requirements, audits, system implementation, and process transformation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in a shared services environment.
• Project management experience in system implementation or process transformation.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements across US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
