Global Head of Payroll - Vice President / Senior Vice President (Fintech)

Global Head of Payroll (Vice President / Senior Vice President) (Fintech): Define and execute global payroll strategy, operating model, and governance, balancing consistency with local regulations. Location: Greenwich, Connecticut, United States - office Monday-Thursday, remote Friday.

Salary: $160,000 to $220,000 base + equity + annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define global payroll strategy, operating model, and governance framework.
• Lead and develop high-performing global payroll team.
• Own payroll governance, internal controls, risk management, and audit readiness.
• Manage relationships with payroll vendors, including SLAs and KPIs.
• Process all pay elements accurately, including equity compensation and tax withholding.
• Partner with Accounting, Treasury, and other teams on reconciliations, funding, and reporting.
• Oversee year-end reporting, compliance, and technology optimizations.

Requirements

• 10+ years progressive payroll leadership, including multi-state US and global exposure
• Bachelor’s in finance/accounting; advanced degree preferred
• Experience leading teams in outsourced payroll models
• Strong payroll accounting, SOX, internal controls knowledge
• Proven equity compensation management (RSUs, options)
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel; payroll platforms/HCM/ERP experience
• Willingness to plan time off around payroll cycles

Nice to have

• Experience with Namely HR or Ceridian Dayforce
