Maintenance Superintendent (Specialty Chemicals)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, USA; primarily onsite. Working hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with availability outside normal hours when maintenance needs require it.

Salary: $82,602–$110,136 annually, including base salary and annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, supervise, and develop approximately 11 electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians.
• Direct preventive, reactive, shutdown, and minor project maintenance activities while prioritizing work orders and operational needs.
• Coordinate field walk-downs, materials, contractors, work methods, technical guidance, and employee training.
• Manage technician workloads, labor hours, overtime, timecards, maintenance records, and schedule adherence.
• Monitor maintenance costs and support budget performance while driving continuous improvement with Production.
• Champion safe work practices and compliance with ESHA, environmental, Management of Change, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical college education strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience, including leadership or management of maintenance employees.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, broad maintenance knowledge, and hands-on troubleshooting capability.
• Experience in a union or collective bargaining environment is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems; SAP Plant Maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with availability for after-hours support when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kronos, Microsoft Office, project management, Lean Six Sigma, or 5S.
