Maintenance Manager (Waste-to-Energy): Leading site-wide maintenance, reliability, safety, budgeting, and outage planning for a waste-to-energy facility with an accent on preventive and predictive maintenance, mechanical integrity, and electrical and instrumentation systems. Focus on developing long-term maintenance plans, solving repetitive equipment failures through root cause analysis, and improving plant reliability, safety, and cost performance.

Location: Dickerson, Maryland, United States; onsite facility role

Salary: $118,700–$169,800 USD per annum

What you will do

  • Lead the maintenance team, including mechanics, welders, electrical and instrumentation technicians, a maintenance planner, and a storekeeper.
  • Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across mechanical and E&I operations.
  • Develop five-year, annual, and monthly maintenance plans and budgets.
  • Lead work management, outage planning, shutdown coordination, and maintenance improvement initiatives.
  • Drive reliability improvements through lean strategies, maintenance metrics, root cause analysis, and failure prevention.
  • Partner with environmental, health and safety, engineering, quality, and facility management personnel to maintain safe and reliable operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of supervisor or manager experience in waste-to-energy, power, military, industrial, or chemical plant maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's or engineering degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance budgeting, work management, planning and scheduling, preventive maintenance, and outages.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, the National Electric Code, and NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
  • Experience with mechanical integrity, quality assurance, chemical process equipment, spare parts inventory, and maintenance reliability.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, lift or carry 50 pounds, wear a full-face respirator, and work in varying weather conditions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ALM, Peoplesoft, Microsoft Office, and computer maintenance management systems.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
