Manager, Maintenance and Engineering (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Bloomfield, Connecticut, United States; onsite plant-based role

Salary: $120,300–$165,400 per year base salary

What you will do

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for site engineering, maintenance, reliability, and capital project functions.
• Develop and execute multi-year capital investment and technical improvement strategies, managing an annual capital budget of up to $20 million.
• Lead capital projects from concept through design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and operational handoff.
• Lead the maintenance organization and implement Total Productive Maintenance, preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Improve equipment reliability, availability, maintenance planning, spare-parts management, technical documentation, and root-cause analysis.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, Distribution, and Finance while managing engineering firms, equipment suppliers, contractors, and technical resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Eight or more years of progressive engineering, maintenance, reliability, or technical leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, controls, utilities, and industrial manufacturing systems.
• Experience leading and developing salaried technical professionals and hourly maintenance teams.
• Strong communication, change leadership, contractor management, and cross-functional influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading engineering projects and maintenance or reliability programs.
• At least three years of capital project management experience covering scope, budget, schedule, contractors, commissioning, and operational handoff.
• Experience implementing TPM, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, automation, process controls, and computerized maintenance management systems.
• Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CMRP, SMRP, or equivalent certification.
