Technical Sourcing Manager, Network Hardware

Location: Hybrid, based in Austin, Texas, US, or Lisbon, Portugal

Salary: €41,000–€56,000 annual salary for Portugal-based hires; compensation may vary by work location.

A large-scale Internet infrastructure company operating a global network that protects and accelerates online applications for customers ranging from individual bloggers to Fortune 500 companies.

What you will do

• Own strategic sourcing for routers, switches, interconnects, and other network hardware commodities.
• Set long-term total cost of ownership targets and lead complex, multi-party supplier negotiations.
• Manage supplier quality, delivery terms, support contracts, and current asset inventory records.
• Introduce vendor evaluation processes such as RFX and QBR while partnering with hardware engineering on new technologies.
• Coordinate hardware supply and global infrastructure installations across data-center deployment schedules.
• Identify automation opportunities and help standardize physical deployment processes across data-center regions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working with networking equipment OEMs.
• Direct experience executing complex data-center infrastructure projects in rapidly changing environments.
• Deep understanding of the commercial benefits of hardware technologies and practical knowledge of physical data-center networking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Engineering or strong analytical background supporting detailed total cost of ownership modeling.
• Basic experience using generative AI, LLMs, or AI-driven data analytics to optimize workflows and analyze data.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
• Experience sourcing hardware optimized for AI/ML workloads, including GPUs and high-throughput interconnects.
• Program management experience across multiple large cross-functional teams.
• Experience with DCIM tools and program management software such as JIRA.
