Strategic Sourcing Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States; full-time hybrid role

Salary: $165,000–$175,000 base annually, plus bonus, stock options, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop sourcing and category strategies for radar, RF, electronics, mechanical, test equipment, contract manufacturing, and technical service suppliers.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, competitive sourcing, total-cost analysis, commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing on NPI, manufacturability, make-versus-buy decisions, alternate sources, and supplier readiness.
• Own supplier onboarding, governance, performance reviews, corrective actions, dual-source strategies, and supply-risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Security, Procurement, Supply Planning, and Manufacturing on supplier decisions and material readiness.
• Manage, coach, and develop sourcing and procurement professionals while establishing scalable operating practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, procurement, or supply chain for technically complex hardware programs.
• Experience with sourcing strategies, RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations, and supplier management.
• Experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or programs and knowledge of FAR/DFARS flow-downs, domestic sourcing requirements, DPAS, ITAR, CUI, cybersecurity, and audit expectations.
• Demonstrated people-management experience and ability to influence technical and business stakeholders in complex environments.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Personnel Security Clearance and required U.S. export-control authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing radar, RF, satellite or space hardware, electronics, precision mechanical assemblies, test equipment, or contract manufacturing services.
• Experience with long-term agreements, master service agreements, capacity commitments, NPI, and scaling supplier readiness into production.
• CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, MBA, or equivalent advanced credential.
• Experience with NetSuite, sourcing and contract tools, supplier scorecards, compliance reporting, classified programs, or secure environments.
