Head of Compute Supply Chain

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; remote-friendly within the US. Staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance.

Annual salary: $1–$2 USD.

What you will do

• Own sourcing strategy across semiconductors and IT hardware, data center equipment, and energy equipment.
• Build and scale the sourcing organization, including developing category leads and managers.
• Secure future supply through capacity reservations, wafer commitments, and long-term agreements.
• Manage executive relationships with hardware suppliers and power and infrastructure OEMs.
• Own supply risks involving single-source exposure, geography, tariffs, and export controls.
• Identify supply gaps before they affect the business.

Requirements

• 15+ years of strategic sourcing or supply chain experience in semiconductors, hardware, or data center infrastructure.
• Experience leading a function rather than a single category and building an organization through rapid growth.
• Experience negotiating capacity or long-term supply agreements at multibillion-dollar scale with executive counterparts.
• Deep expertise in semiconductor supply or data center and power infrastructure equipment.
• Ability to make allocation decisions and explain trade-offs to executives.
• Strong written communication and executive presence; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building a sourcing function from scratch.
• Experience sourcing robotics or manufacturing equipment.
• Experience sourcing across the US, Europe, and Asia for an international data center portfolio.
