Director, Cybersecurity (AI)

Location: Required to be based at the Chicago HQ or Bellevue office, United States; travel is required as needed for leadership summits, planning workshops, and customer or auditor engagements.

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 per year, plus variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Execute the enterprise security roadmap and oversee daily information security and IT security operations.
• Lead, mentor, and scale the security organization while serving as Deputy CISO.
• Own compliance readiness across SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, FedRAMP, and related frameworks.
• Represent security in enterprise customer engagements, security reviews, and questionnaires.
• Evaluate AI tools, threat detection technologies, and automated workflows to improve security operations and incident response.
• Maintain security governance, vendor risk assessments, policies, incident response readiness, and security awareness programs in partnership with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Operations.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of progressive information security experience, including 4+ years leading security teams and owning end-to-end security operations.
• Experience with incident response, security engineering, vulnerability management, security architecture, and compliance programs.
• Strong knowledge of SOC 2 Type II and security governance in a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Technical expertise in CNAPP, EDR, and SASE architecture, with experience serving as an incident response commander.
• Ability to communicate technical risks to executives, board members, auditors, and enterprise customer security teams.
• Ability to work from the Chicago or Bellevue office and travel for business-critical engagements.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent senior security certification.
• Experience in GRC, cybersecurity, or compliance SaaS.
• Experience scaling security programs through Series C+ growth, IPO preparation, or enterprise expansion.
• Familiarity with Zscaler, CrowdStrike, GitLab, and Wiz.
