Director, Security Operations Enablement (Cybersecurity)

Location: VA-Reston, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $125,000–$145,000 for Jersey City or $130,000–$150,000 for New York, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the Security Operations Enablement function across Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and SIEM/SOAR engineering.
• Define and deliver the strategic roadmap for Security Operations platforms, capabilities, and target-state architectures.
• Manage and develop a global team of more than 20 engineering professionals.
• Govern the lifecycle, availability, performance, and continuous improvement of Security Operations technologies, data pipelines, detection engineering, and automation.
• Partner with Incident Response, GCDC, Cyber Threat Management, Security Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture to translate operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Manage strategic security vendors, performance metrics, governance, risk, compliance, and innovation initiatives involving advanced analytics, AI, and automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, Security Operations, or a related field.
• Experience leading engineering teams delivering large-scale security platforms such as SIEM, SOAR, and data platforms.
• Strong understanding of detection, triage, and response workflows.
• Experience defining technology strategy in complex, global organizations and managing distributed engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, modern data architectures, scalable engineering patterns, security vendors, and strategic partnerships.

Nice to have

• Security Architecture experience or close collaboration with architecture functions.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and large-scale data engineering frameworks.
• Experience delivering AI or automation initiatives within Security Operations.
• Financial services or highly regulated industry experience.
