Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) (AI Security)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States

Base salary: $300,000–$380,000 USD per year, plus equity and possible incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design and execute a global security strategy aligned with business growth, advising the board and executive leadership on cyber risk.
• Own cyber risk management, security assessments, third-party reviews, and measurable mitigation initiatives.
• Build and lead product security, application security, infrastructure protection, and security engineering teams.
• Oversee threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, cloud and container security controls, and secure SDLC practices.
• Establish AI governance and security capabilities covering acceptable use, AI data protection, third-party AI services, prompt injection, model integrity, and output validation.
• Represent hirify.global in customer security reviews, audits, sales cycles, industry forums, and public engagements while owning the security budget and M&A security due diligence.

Requirements

• 15+ years of information security experience, including 5+ years in senior security leadership such as CISO, VP/Deputy CISO, or Senior Director of Security.
• Experience building and scaling teams across product security, security architecture, infrastructure protection, and enterprise risk management.
• Strong experience securing cloud-native SaaS environments, container workloads, CI/CD-integrated code scanning, identity services, and automated monitoring.
• Experience with AI governance and AI/ML attack surfaces, including model poisoning, prompt injection, training data extraction, adversarial inputs, and ML supply chain risks.
• Experience presenting to boards, advising executives, supporting customer and regulated-entity security reviews, and working with legal, compliance, and IT leadership.
• Demonstrated security program maturity improvements using NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks, plus significant security budget management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience at a cybersecurity vendor or in critical infrastructure security.
• Hands-on deployment of AI/ML in security operations and familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF, or MITRE ATLAS.
• Experience securing commercial SaaS AI features through red-teaming or adversarial testing.
• Experience with M&A security due diligence or engagement with government stakeholders and congressional committees.
• Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
