Founding Engineer (AI/Legaltech)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; full-time on-site with in-person attendance six days per week

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD annually

hirify.global is a seed-stage legaltech startup building AI-native contract review and negotiation software.

What you will do

• Build and own core full-stack product features, including data models, backend systems, and interfaces for attorneys and clients.
• Partner with AI engineers and attorneys to convert legal workflows and review playbooks into reliable production software.
• Make architecture and tooling decisions that balance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability.
• Write maintainable code and own features from conception through production deployment.
• Help establish engineering culture, standards, and hiring practices as the team grows.
• Collaborate with legal domain experts to turn legal judgment into software.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience building and shipping production software, preferably at an early-stage company or as a founder.
• Strong full-stack skills with TypeScript, React, a modern backend stack, and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building with AI and large language models.
• Experience owning features end-to-end through production deployment.
• Strong engineering judgment, communication skills, product instincts, and comfort working with ambiguity and minimal process.
• Must work on-site in San Francisco six days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in legaltech, contract management, or document processing.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
