Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; Lehi, UT; Plano, TX; West Palm Beach, FL; Dallas, TX; Irvine, CA; or Roseville, CA (HQ)

Salary: $155,400–$175,900 for the rest of the U.S.; $170,500–$193,500 in CA, WA, NJ, MA, DC, and NYC; $188,300–$212,900 in San Francisco. Additional bonus eligibility may apply.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and scale large full-stack applications across backend services, React components, and modern mobile interfaces.
• Architect secure, responsive, and highly available AI/ML-powered solutions for web, mobile, SMS/voice, and API surfaces.
• Build and ship LLM-powered agents, agentic workflows, embedding stores, and personalized content delivery.
• Develop MCP servers and work with the Model Context Protocol ecosystem.
• Lead technical strategy, architecture decisions, cross-functional initiatives, and production launches.
• Mentor engineers and improve application reliability, performance, security, and data privacy.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years working with AI/ML solutions or LLMs.
• Experience with Node.js, React, TypeScript, and state management solutions such as Redux.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, databases, secure coding, responsive design, application lifecycle, and navigation patterns.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and with systems designed for high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and performance.
• Ability to influence technical direction, lead engineering teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
