Automotive Senior Technician

Location: Rio Rancho, United States; onsite automotive service work

Salary: $19.57–$31.62 per hour, plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Compensation uses a performance-based flat-rate pay model.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Keep current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certification in at least three areas from A1–A8 within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license required at all times, with the ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, along with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, vocational-technical training, or third-party assessments/certifications; ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area or L1.
