Facilities Engineer II (Automotive)

Location: Gaffney, South Carolina, US; onsite. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $86,000–$110,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Manage facility operations, maintenance, reliability, and improvement initiatives across five industrial buildings.
• Lead facility projects from concept and scope development through execution, startup, and closeout.
• Develop schedules, budgets, resource plans, and capital expenditure controls for multiple projects.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal operations, maintenance, safety, and environmental stakeholders.
• Support electrical, HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection, building security, and other utility systems.
• Conduct assessments, inspections, emergency response, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy reduction, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or facilities-related discipline, or six years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least five years of experience supporting industrial facilities, manufacturing operations, construction management, or related engineering environments.
• Experience managing multiple projects, project budgets, capital expenditures, contractors, and outside service providers.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, including MaintainX, and knowledge of industrial building systems, utilities, and preventive or predictive maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production environments.
• Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, energy management, sustainability, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and building codes.
• SAP experience, experience managing capital projects exceeding $250,000, or PMP certification.
