Mechanical Technician (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Tomball, Texas, United States. Onsite manufacturing role with up to 10% domestic travel.

What you will do

• Develop and conduct preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and underperformance with original equipment manufacturers and engineering teams.
• Run diagnostic tests, adjust equipment, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and related systems.
• Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, blueprints, and operating manuals.
• Identify potential failures before they disrupt operations and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Train production staff, support facilities maintenance, and ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of mechanical technician or related machine operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency troubleshooting electrical systems, including three-phase systems, as well as pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and apply equipment schematics, blueprints, maintenance instructions, and PPE requirements.
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Microsoft Word/Outlook.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. A valid driver's license is required.

Nice to have

• Welding certificate.
• Familiarity with G-code programming.
• Assembly line experience and blueprint reading skills.
