Transmission Siting and Outreach Manager (Utilities)

Location: On-site in Corpus Christi or Austin, Texas; periodic overnight travel to facilities and projects is required.

Salary: $136,539–$177,503 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate regional transmission siting and outreach strategies, activities, tools, templates, policies, and standards.
• Develop approaches for working with affected and potentially affected landowners and improve line-routing success.
• Represent transmission projects to landowners, community members, thought leaders, elected officials, agencies, and other external audiences.
• Provide regulatory support, including testimony before federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
• Manage siting and outreach specialists, project workflows, and related outsourcing activities.
• Collaborate with External Affairs, Environmental Services, Project Management, Right of Way, Engineering, and operating companies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, landscape architecture, planning, business, public relations, public affairs, environmental science, or a related field.
• At least six years of experience in outreach, utilities, corporate communications, siting, operations, engineering, environmental services, or a related field.
• Strong written, organizational, presentation, oral communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work extended hours when needed, travel periodically, hike one to three miles, and follow applicable safety procedures.
• Ability to build relationships, lead teams, make decisions, collaborate across functions, and develop practical solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience preparing regulatory testimony and supervising team members.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
