Senior Project Construction Manager (Utility or Energy)

Location: Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois; hybrid work. The position may require extended hours during storms or other energy delivery emergencies and has a regional preference for Western and Northern Regions.

Annual salary: $90,400–$124,300, plus a 15% annual bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Manage the construction process for transmission, substation, and distribution projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives are met.
• Coordinate internal and external construction resources, contractors, engineering, project management, and contract management personnel.
• Lead job site walk downs, project meetings, safety briefings, stakeholder visits, and customer communications.
• Review engineering drawings, identify constructability issues, and resolve field barriers, delays, and design challenges.
• Monitor construction spend, materials, clearance orders, contractor performance, quality assurance, inspections, and compliance audits.
• Conduct safety observations and support incident reviews, root cause investigations, condition reports, and coaching of construction management staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4–7 years of transmission and/or distribution construction experience, or a high school diploma and 6–9 years of related experience.
• Electrical utility experience, including transmission and substation work and distribution systems from 12kV to 34kV.
• Project management experience and knowledge of project management concepts and principles.
• Strong knowledge of company and OSHA safety guidelines and regulations; Lockout Tag Out certification is required within the first year, along with OSHA 30.
• Analytical ability, strong written and oral communication, consensus building, stakeholder management, and demonstrated business and customer awareness.
• Experience with large-dollar project construction and maintenance, previous supervisory experience, and knowledge of PASSPORT.
