What you will do
- Lead the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through daily practice, training, and process development.
- Develop and execute station content strategies across television, websites, and social media.
- Research, pitch, report, write, shoot, and edit local and trending news stories for on-air and digital platforms.
- Gather information through research, interviews, public events, and reference materials to produce complete and accurate reports.
- Build and schedule digital campaigns promoting local shows and specials.
- Review content for editorial accuracy, grammar, punctuation, journalistic integrity, and production quality.
Requirements
- Degree in journalism.
- Experience at a daily newspaper or news website.
- Understanding of Associated Press style and editorial formatting guidelines.
- Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
- Preferred skills include Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML.
- Ability to participate positively in a collaborative work environment and respond constructively to feedback.
Nice to have
- Live, working web samples and/or print pages.
- CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
