Producer (News)

Location: Altamonte Springs, Florida; must work from the office in Orlando, Florida

What you will do

• Produce daily newscasts by researching, investigating, interviewing, writing, and building news rundowns.
• Line produce broadcasts from the control room and write and proofread copy for on-air accuracy.
• Monitor breaking news, coordinate interviews, and plan coverage of prioritized events.
• Communicate with anchors, field crews, and agencies to obtain and confirm information.
• Work with reporters to conceptualize, coordinate, and approve story packages.
• Present news or weather-related reports for social media, broadcasts, websites, and printed publications.

Requirements

• Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Broadcast news experience as a producer or reporter, including prior Spanish-language broadcasting experience.
• Working knowledge of television news rundowns, broadcast technology, and non-linear editing equipment.
• High school diploma required; a college degree in Journalism, Communication Studies, Radio-TV-Film, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to drive daily.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States and work from the Orlando office. Ability to lift and carry approximately 45 pounds of broadcast equipment is required.
