Senior Firmware Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade C/C++ firmware for resource-constrained microcontrollers, including ARM Cortex-M, ESP32, and RISC-V platforms.
• Implement low-power wireless and application connectivity using Wi-Fi, BLE, Cellular IoT, Thread, Zigbee, MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Develop peripheral drivers, support hardware bring-up, and debug embedded systems with hardware engineering teams.
• Optimize power consumption and implement secure boot, TLS, cryptographic features, key management, and OTA firmware updates.
• Build multithreaded RTOS applications, conduct hardware-in-the-loop and regression testing, and support factory diagnostics and mass-production testing.
• Lead code reviews, coding standards, technical documentation, and mentorship for firmware engineers.

Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional embedded C/C++ firmware development experience for commercial IoT or edge devices.
• Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or ThreadX and with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, BLE, Cellular IoT, and LoRaWAN.
• Knowledge of network security standards including mTLS, AES, RSA, and ECC, plus experience with embedded hardware debugging equipment.
• Advanced proficiency with Git, CMake or Make, GCC, embedded CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr RTOS and West/CMake meta-build systems.
• Exposure to ARM TrustZone, Secure Elements, or TPMs.
• Familiarity with Python for test automation and scripting.
• Experience delivering consumer electronics or industrial IoT products from concept through mass production.
