Embedded Firmware and Software Engineer

Salary: $116,150–$182,400 USD annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for US candidates.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, optimization, and integration of embedded software and firmware for complex hardware products.
• Lead multiple project teams and coordinate internal and outsourced development partners across the full product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure reliable hardware–firmware integration and communication.
• Define and document communication protocols, system states, feature requirements, design specifications, code comments, and user guides.
• Review designs and project activities against engineering standards, resolve firmware issues, and improve product quality and reliability.
• Mentor less-experienced firmware engineers and drive the adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Typically 7–10 years of experience in firmware development or a related field.
• Experience with C, C++, Python, embedded systems, firmware development, Linux, operating systems, and real-time operating systems.
• Knowledge of algorithms, debugging, software engineering, Git, agile methodology, and new product development.
• Strong communication, results orientation, learning agility, digital fluency, and customer centricity.
