Embedded Firmware and Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Salary: $116,150–$182,400 USD annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for candidates in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting of embedded software and firmware for complex hardware products and platforms.
• Lead multiple project teams and coordinate internal and outsourced development partners across the full product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and establish communication between hardware and firmware components.
• Define and document communication protocols, system states, feature requirements, design specifications, code comments, and user guides.
• Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, improving product quality and reducing failure risk.
• Drive adoption of emerging embedded technologies and mentor less-experienced firmware engineers.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Typically 7–10 years of experience in firmware development or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, Python, embedded systems, firmware development, software engineering, and debugging.
• Experience with Linux, Git, operating systems, and real-time operating systems.
• Knowledge of algorithms, computer engineering, electrical engineering, new product development, and Agile methodology.
• Ability to lead complex projects, evaluate technical designs, communicate effectively, and mentor engineers.
