Embedded Software Engineer (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, CA; Marlborough, MA; Linthicum Heights, MD; or Tampa, FL. Additional compensation ranges apply to specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in the San Jose, San Francisco Bay Area, and New York City metropolitan areas: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ for encrypted communications systems.
• Develop, test, and certify the Next Generation Encryptor high-speed encryptor for government enterprise networks.
• Work with Linux in embedded environments, including kernel driver development and modifications.
• Implement RESTConf interfaces, standalone embedded applications, and emulation environments.
• Develop software for embedded cryptographic devices and microprocessor platforms such as NIOS, ARM, and RISC-V.
• Collaborate with system, test, hardware, and other engineering disciplines as capabilities move into service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of embedded software design and implementation experience in C/C++.
• At least 2 years of Linux experience, preferably in embedded environments.
• Experience with Rust, object-oriented software development, Agile Scrum, CI/CD, and TCP/IP networking.
• US citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance are required.
• Ability to plan, track, and report progress, communicate effectively, and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Linux kernel and bare-metal embedded device driver experience.
• Experience with NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, RESTConf, emulation environments, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, and Python.
• Experience with standalone embedded applications and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
