Commercial Construction Superintendent (Healthcare)

Location: Richmond, VA, United States; on-site construction work requiring prolonged walking or standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary: $90,000–$137,000 per year, with compensation varying by city and state.

What you will do

• Direct on-site workflow and communicate project priorities to site staff and subcontractors.
• Lead jobsite safety, administer the safety program, and support inspections and incident investigations.
• Maintain project quality standards, daily logs, work-order documentation, and site-condition records.
• Coordinate schedules, installation methods, sequencing, long-lead items, temporary facilities, and site utilities.
• Manage punch-list and closeout activities through owner and architect acceptance.
• Collaborate with project managers, site operations, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and community stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, including work with a commercial general contractor.
• A four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred; additional experience may substitute.
• Mastery of building processes and best practices, with the ability to organize people, tools, and time under tight deadlines.
• Previous superintendent or project-lead experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ProCore, Adobe, and Bluebeam, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
• Ability to communicate professionally, manage priorities, collaborate across stakeholder groups, and maintain high standards of integrity.

Nice to have

• Tenant renovations, service work, occupied-space projects, weekend work, or fast-paced construction experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
