Sr. Firmware Developer (IoT)

Location: Hybrid in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA. Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade C/C++ firmware for resource-constrained microcontrollers.
• Implement low-power wireless connectivity and application protocols including Wi-Fi, BLE, Cellular IoT, Thread, Zigbee, MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Develop peripheral drivers, support board bring-up, and debug hardware with engineering teams.
• Optimize power consumption and implement secure boot, cryptography, key management, and OTA firmware updates.
• Build multithreaded RTOS applications, conduct hardware-in-the-loop and automated regression testing, and support factory testing and mass production.
• Lead code reviews, maintain coding standards and documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level firmware engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional embedded C/C++ firmware development experience for commercial IoT or edge devices.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with wireless technologies, Cellular IoT or LoRaWAN, and security standards including mTLS, AES, RSA, and ECC.
• Proficiency with hardware debugging equipment, Git, CMake or Make, GCC, embedded CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis tools.
• United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr RTOS and West/CMake.
• Knowledge of ARM TrustZone, Secure Elements, or TPMs.
• Python experience for test automation and scripting.
• Experience delivering high-volume consumer electronics or industrial IoT products from concept through mass production.
