Lab Technician- San Angelo, TX (Day Shift) (Microbiology)

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing of food products using approved traditional and rapid methodologies.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples, then complete sample receipt, processing, incubation, interpretation, and reporting.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, automated microbial detection systems, and related instrumentation.
• Maintain laboratory documentation in line with cGMP, GLP, and data integrity requirements.
• Support environmental monitoring, microbiological investigations, method validations, verifications, and technology transfers.
• Review data before release, manage consumables, and contribute to laboratory efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience in microbiology or a related regulated industry.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work for prolonged periods standing and walking, perform repetitive tasks, wear PPE, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory or with food safety.
• Experience with rapid microbiological technologies and automated systems.
• Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
