Laboratory Technician I (Food Testing)

What you will do

• Register incoming samples and maintain accurate daily records and quality-control documentation.
• Enter sample data into the hirify.global eLIMS system.
• Perform laboratory testing accurately and efficiently while meeting sample turnaround targets.
• Verify results and submit them for transmission to the appropriate personnel.
• Identify process difficulties, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results, and report them to the supervisor.
• Follow laboratory quality, health, safety, environmental, ISO/IEC 17025, and AOAC ALACC requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures, laboratory methods, and quality-system requirements.
• Ability to communicate and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
• Availability for the Tuesday–Saturday shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM Tuesday–Friday and 1:00 PM–9:30 PM Saturday.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in microbiology, food sciences, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Experience with plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.
