Laboratory Technician - Rapid Microbiology (OKC Day-Shift)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK, USA; laboratory-based onsite position with day-shift work and occasional weekend, holiday, or off-shift coverage.

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing of food products using approved methodologies.
• Execute rapid microbiological methods with automated microbial detection systems and related instrumentation.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples according to SOPs and compendial requirements.
• Receive, process, incubate, interpret, and report samples while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment; support environmental monitoring and investigations.
• Participate in method validations, verifications, technology transfers, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience in microbiology or a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, medical device, or related industry.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following safety, quality, cGMP, GLP, and data integrity procedures.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, wear PPE, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
• Familiarity with food safety and rapid microbiological technologies.
• Experience with automated laboratory systems and knowledge of LIMS.
