Laboratory Technician - Rapid Microbiology (Grand Island, NE Night-Shift)

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing of food products using approved traditional and rapid methodologies.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples according to SOPs and compendial requirements.
• Process samples, perform incubation, interpret results, and complete reporting.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and automated microbial detection systems.
• Maintain documentation and review data for accuracy under cGMP, GLP, and data integrity requirements.
• Support environmental monitoring, microbiological investigations, method validation, technology transfer, inventory management, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience in microbiology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, medical device, or another regulated industry.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting with prolonged standing, walking, repetitive tasks, required PPE, and occasional weekend, holiday, or off-shift coverage.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
• Familiarity with food safety and rapid microbiological technologies.
• Experience with automated laboratory systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
