Field Supervisor Underground Construction (Fiber)

Location: CA-138, Palmdale, California, USA; on-site field construction work

What you will do

• Lead in-house underground fiber and micro-trenching construction crews under the direction of the Construction Manager.
• Manage on-site construction activities, scheduling, equipment, materials, and overall project progress.
• Supervise foremen and crews to ensure work meets designs, specifications, budgets, schedules, and local codes.
• Inspect job sites, manage quality control, review production reports, and maintain accurate work-hour, material, and as-built records.
• Provide technical guidance on drawings, construction methods, equipment, white lining, traffic control, and field procedures.
• Support training, coordinate with cities and project stakeholders, resolve property-owner complaints, and enforce safety and project policies.

Requirements

• At least five years of supervisory experience in underground fiber construction.
• Experience with trenching, micro-trenching, boring, cable installation, aerial construction, and fiber splicing projects.
• Strong communication, supervisory, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for spreadsheets and production reports.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams for communication, meetings, and file sharing.
• Comfort working with tablets, laptops, and mobile applications in a field environment.
