Founding Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site five days per week in New York City, New York, USA. The listing also identifies the location type as remote.

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 USD annually, with equity available.

hirify.global is a fast-growing AI-native startup building multi-modal agents across voice, SMS, and email for a vertical B2B2C market.

What you will do

• Own one of four core product domains from architecture through daily production shipping.
• Join customer calls, synthesize feedback, and make independent product decisions.
• Build and optimize voice, SMS, and email agents for sub-500ms voice latency, strong SMS response rates, and persistent conversation state.
• Define quality standards for non-deterministic systems, including evaluations, prompt versioning, guardrails, and drift detection.
• Develop full-stack products with React/Next.js, Node.js, and Python voice services.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of full-stack engineering experience and a strong record of shipping 0-to-1 products.
• Production proficiency in TypeScript, with hands-on Node.js and React/Next.js experience.
• Production experience with LLM APIs or agent SDKs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Vercel AI SDK, or Mastra.
• Depth in production voice or SMS agents, long-running agent state and memory, B2B2C or marketplace architecture, or agent evaluations and guardrails.
• Ability to make independent product decisions and conduct customer discovery without dedicated product management support.
• No visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

• Python experience with real-time voice pipelines such as LiveKit, Deepgram, and STT/TTS systems.
• Experience with evaluation tooling such as Braintrust or LLM-as-judge.
• Familiarity with Redis, BullMQ, Vercel, Render, Sentry, or PostHog.
• Founder experience with verifiable traction or experience at a well-regarded AI-native employer.
