Technical Recruiter (AI & Robotics)

Location: On-site in San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo) or Boston (Somerville); candidates must be based in San Francisco or Boston and work in person.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end recruiting for critical technical searches, including intake, strategy, sourcing, screening, interview-loop design, closing, and onboarding handoffs.
• Build proactive talent maps across research, machine learning, robotics, hardware, and related technical domains.
• Source passive candidates through publications, conferences, repositories, referrals, and personalized outreach.
• Partner with technical hiring managers on role scoping, calibration, interviewer preparation, debriefs, and hiring decisions.
• Use AI tools, Ashby, pipeline metrics, and channel insights to improve recruiting workflows and hiring strategy.
• Support in-person hiring across San Francisco and Boston, including site visits and industry events.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience.
• Demonstrated success closing senior technical hires with competing offers.
• Deep passive-sourcing experience, including building named-target searches in unfamiliar domains.
• Data fluency with funnel analysis, ATS reporting, spreadsheets, and evidence-based hiring recommendations.
• Current hands-on use of AI tooling with sound judgment about its accuracy and limitations.
• Based in San Francisco or Boston and available to work in person.

Nice to have

• Recruiting experience in a frontier research organization or AI lab.
• Experience hiring for robotics, autonomous vehicles, hardware, research science, or machine learning infrastructure.
• Early-stage or founding recruiter experience building a recruiting function.
• Ashby experience or fluency with a comparable structured-interview ATS.
• Agency or search-firm training combined with later in-house recruiting experience; familiarity with both Bay Area and Boston talent markets.
