What you will do

  • Own aircraft- and system-level safety assessment, verification, integration, and certification strategies.
  • Conduct System Safety Assessments and supporting FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, and Fault Tree Analysis in accordance with ARP4754A and ARP4761.
  • Architect vehicle systems, system-of-systems integrations, Iron Bird integration, and avionics and flight-controls interfaces.
  • Apply MBSE, requirements engineering, interface definition, digital-thread, and model-validation practices.
  • Serve as a technical SME during audits and regulatory interactions, maintaining certification artifacts and compliance evidence.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, integrators, and airworthiness authorities while mentoring senior engineers and resolving complex cross-system anomalies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related engineering with 8+ years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 6+ years or a PhD with 3+ years.
  • Direct aerospace or aircraft systems experience through the certification lifecycle with FAA or EASA airworthiness authorities.
  • Hands-on experience with SSA, FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, and FTA integrated into a certification basis.
  • Expertise in system-of-systems architecture, interface definition, end-to-end verification, and vehicle integration.
  • Experience with MBSE and requirements/verification tools such as DOORS, Jama, Cameo, Rhapsody, and SysML, plus MATLAB, Python, or Simulink.
  • Ability to lead through technical influence, communicate with stakeholders, mentor engineers, and make decisions under ambiguity.
