Senior Functional Analyst (JIRA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, validation, and documentation of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing, defects, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate backlog refinement and requirements sessions, and develop business process models and formal specifications.
• Coordinate with customers, product owners, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors to assess impacts and clarify requirements.
• Manage backlogs, change control, configuration management, project risks, issues, metrics, and delivery documentation.
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert, support Sprint teams, remove impediments, and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance and pass the required government investigation.
• Ten years of professional experience and a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline; an additional ten years of experience may substitute for education.
• Strong background in software development, Agile, SAFe, Scrum, requirements management, and large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Expertise with JIRA, advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills, strong analytical ability, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to technical, management, customer, and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with the VA Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing and claims processing applications.
