Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California; Marlborough, Massachusetts; Linthicum Heights, Maryland; Tampa, Florida; or Tempe, Arizona

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ for encrypted communications systems.
• Develop, test, and certify the Next Generation Encryptor high-speed encryptor for government enterprise networks.
• Build and modify Linux kernel drivers, bare-metal device drivers, standalone embedded applications, and RESTConf interfaces.
• Implement networking functionality using TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, and related protocols.
• Work with system, test, hardware, and other multidisciplinary engineering teams as capabilities move into service.
• Use emulation environments and support embedded processors such as NIOS, ARM, and RISC-V.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing embedded software in C/C++.
• At least 2 years of Linux experience, preferably in an embedded environment, plus object-oriented and Agile Scrum development experience.
• Experience with Rust, CI/CD software, TCP/IP, and common network configuration.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance are required.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux kernel drivers, bare-metal embedded device drivers, and embedded processors.
• Experience with RESTConf, emulation environments, networking security protocols, Python, Rust, and standalone embedded applications.
