Senior Functional Analyst (Software Development)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 annually

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, validation, and management of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and facilitate sessions to develop business process models, formal specifications, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA as an Application Lifecycle Management tool for requirements, testing, defect management, backlog refinement, and traceability.
• Coordinate with customers, product owners, stakeholders, contractors, systems engineers, and development teams throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
• Manage risks, issues, change requests, configuration management, project documentation, and execution metrics using SAFe practices.
• Serve as a product functional SME and lead or mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Ten years of professional experience; a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong background in software development and Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, research, problem-solving, customer service, and documentation skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience and Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Experience with federal health agencies such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing and claims processing applications.
