Staff VLSI Design Engineer (NAND Flash)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; onsite at the Milpitas office

Salary: $147,800–$251,200 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate analog and mixed-signal ICs for high-performance NAND flash and advanced 3D NAND memories.
• Design low-power analog modules, including operational amplifiers, voltage regulators, and reference generators.
• Develop high-voltage word-line driver circuits and analyze sensing, power, and ground networks.
• Write module interface specifications covering ports, architecture, and operation.
• Verify designs using HSPICE, PRIMESIM, and Verilog simulations, collaborating with layout and functional groups on integration.
• Evaluate silicon results, conduct feasibility studies, characterize devices, and resolve silicon issues with engineering partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of digital design, RTL, analog integrated-circuit design, VLSI design, VLSI circuits, nanoscale fabrication, and characterization.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across design and engineering groups.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or experience in non-volatile memory design, particularly NAND flash memory cell operation.
• Strong device background and experience evaluating new process technologies for design use.
