VMU Technician

Location: Greenford, United Kingdom. Field-based work is conducted on-site at customer locations, with flexibility to cover other VMU depots when required.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, modifications, and diagnostic analysis on customer vehicles and related ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose faults accurately, fit replacement parts correctly, and ensure warranty claims comply with warranty terms.
• Attend customer sites and other VMU depots to complete repairs and provide operational support.
• Complete handovers, job cards, service sheets, timesheets, and other operational documentation accurately and on time.
• Handle VMU telephone enquiries professionally and build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
• Follow safe systems of work, health and safety requirements, PPE standards, housekeeping procedures, and report accidents, risks, and near misses.

Requirements

• Mechanical and/or refrigeration experience.
• Ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision and read wiring diagrams and technical information.
• Computer literacy and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Flexibility to work at different locations to cover leave, sickness, and workload requirements.
• Electrical and mechanical certificates, F-Gas 2079, and GCSEs in Mathematics and English are desirable.
