O&M Mechanical Technician (Waste-to-Energy)

Location: Slough, England, United Kingdom

Salary: approximately £46,000 per year plus a £2,500 annual call-out allowance

What you will do

• Perform mechanical repairs across plant process systems and equipment.
• Inspect, lubricate, adjust, and maintain plant equipment to support efficient operation.
• Plan assigned maintenance work and support production schedules and plant output requirements.
• Conduct risk identification, analysis, and assessments.
• Provide work direction and instruction to other team members.
• Participate in HSE inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings, and report safety infringements.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship; an HNC/D qualification in engineering is desirable.
• Experience in maintenance or engineering within a 24/7 heavy process environment.
• Experience with gearboxes, conveyors, steam-raising plant, valves, rotating plant, and hydraulic systems.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• Team leadership, fault diagnosis, problem-solving, planning, management, and safety-focused skills.
• Excellent written, reading, and verbal English communication skills.
