Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, validation, documentation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and facilitate stakeholder sessions to develop business process models, formal specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, epics, and backlog items.
• Manage requirements, testing, defects, traceability, risks, issues, and project artifacts in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Support Agile and SAFe product teams through backlog refinement, Sprint planning, integration validation, metrics reporting, and impediment removal.
• Coordinate with customers, business and product owners, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors to assess solution impacts and clarify requirements.
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert and lead or mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• Strong background in software development and Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies, including experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, written, oral communication, customer service, problem-solving, and independent research skills.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.
• Previous federal government experience and security clearance are highly desired.

Nice to have

• Experience with the VA Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, claims processing applications, or Agile environments.
