Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% U.S.-based remote position; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, elaboration, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, business users, IT teams, leadership, systems engineers, product owners, and contractors to define software requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, backlog items, acceptance criteria, requirements, tests, defects, risks, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM tools.
• Facilitate user interviews, requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Develop business process models, formal specifications, project documentation, change requests, and execution status and metrics reports.
• Serve as a product functional SME, support Sprint teams, remove impediments, and lead and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• Strong background in software development and Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA tools and requirements management in large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, customer service, and research skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program (VIP) or experience with a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• VA SQA testing experience or knowledge of healthcare billing and claims-processing applications.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
