Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, validation, documentation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and cross-functional requirements.
• Manage requirements, epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, tests, defects, risks, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate requirements and backlog refinement sessions, and develop business process models and formal specifications.
• Coordinate with customers, product and business owners, systems engineers, development teams, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Track Agile product and program execution metrics, project risks, issues, impediments, backlogs, and scope changes using SAFe.
• Act as a product functional subject matter expert and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA tools and advanced Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, research, written, oral communication, customer service, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an Agile environment and with the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA software quality assurance testing experience.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
• Experience with a federal health agency, healthcare billing and claims processing applications.
