Automotive Technician (B Tech)

Location: Lawrence, United States; onsite automotive service role

Pay range: $18.54–$31.62 per hour; $2,000 sign-on bonus for first-time hires.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specifications.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non-mechanical customers.
• Assist with and train other technicians and mechanics.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skills in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, along with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment eligibility verification through Form I-9 is required; temporary work authorization or sponsorship needs may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
