Senior Platform Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid attendance at the London office 2–3 days per week. Working from abroad is available for up to 120 days per year, subject to having the right to work in the country of choice.

What you will do

• Design and evolve reliable cloud platform capabilities for engineering teams.
• Improve AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational patterns.
• Build reusable tooling, guardrails, and self-service foundations that improve developer experience.
• Partner with application engineers to understand needs and make safe, maintainable technical decisions.
• Strengthen observability, resilience, security, and incident readiness across platform services.
• Support business-critical services through a shared on-call rota and contribute to platform standards across Cloud Infrastructure, DBA, and DevX.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience in production environments.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, Terraform, and Helm.
• Strong CI/CD experience, particularly with GitHub Actions and reusable pipeline design.
• Experience with logging and monitoring, networking and protocols, scripting, secrets management, and service discovery.
• Sound coding skills and evidence of designing secure, reliable, and maintainable platform solutions.
• Experience independently delivering work, collaborating with application engineers, and supporting business-critical services through on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Splunk, including SLO-led practices.
• Pragmatic use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve quality and productivity.
