(Senior) Platform Engineer - Real-Time Infrastructure - Banking (m/f/x)

Location: Munich, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad and international relocation support are available.

What you will do

• Own production infrastructure across AWS, Linux hosts, networking, containers, and physical environments.
• Design and improve infrastructure for performance-sensitive real-time services using benchmarks for throughput, burst behaviour, and tail latency.
• Operate and troubleshoot critical network paths across VPCs, routing, security groups, load balancers, DNS, private connectivity, and service communication.
• Build infrastructure as code, host lifecycle management, and deployment workflows across development, staging, and production.
• Improve failover, recovery, deployment safety, observability, and operational tooling for Linux-based and event-driven workloads.
• Partner with software engineers on reusable infrastructure patterns, production readiness, CI/CD, and incident response.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience owning production infrastructure for distributed or real-time systems.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including EC2, VPC networking, IAM, KMS, S3, SQS, and SNS.
• Strong networking, Terraform, Linux, container, runtime debugging, and host-level performance-tuning experience.
• Experience with low-latency networking, CPU pinning, dedicated hosts, stateful services, failover, recovery, and controlled cutovers.
• Strong analytical thinking, pragmatic decision-making, and communication across engineering and operational stakeholders.

• Experience supporting Rust-based service environments.
• Experience in regulated, security-sensitive, or high-reliability environments.
