What you will do

  • Lead systems engineering for a complex safety-critical surgical robotic platform across its full product lifecycle.
  • Define system architecture and decompose clinical, user, system, hardware, and software requirements into clear, testable, traceable requirements.
  • Integrate electromechanical hardware, embedded and application software, controls, sensing, actuation, and user interaction.
  • Lead system-level risk management, design reviews, requirements traceability, verification strategies, and design control activities.
  • Drive collaboration across software, electrical, mechanical, controls, clinical, quality, manufacturing, and verification teams.
  • Support regulatory submissions, design transfer, product launch, post-market surveillance, and investigation of failures and nonconformances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, software engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of multidisciplinary systems engineering experience, including 5+ years with surgical robotic systems or complex medical devices.
  • Experience with embedded systems, firmware or software testing, electromechanical systems, and product development lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
  • Familiarity with test automation and scripting tools such as Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, statistical analysis, and sample size calculation skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices.
  • Certification in CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with SAP Product Lifecycle Management, robotic automation, or model-based systems engineering.
