Licensed Optician - Part Time (Optical Retail)

Location: Farmington, Connecticut, USA; onsite retail position

What you will do

• Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, including training customers on contact lens insertion and removal.
• Provide patient care, product education, and customer service while supporting sales goals.
• Maintain accurate patient records, follow up on orders, notify customers, and conduct weekly outreach.
• Reduce remakes, follow safety standards, and support operational quality.
• Manage inventory, merchandising standards, and store organization.
• Mentor Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

Requirements

• Hold an active dispensing license required by the state.
• Have at least 3 years of related experience or training.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, communication, selling, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Work comfortably with a diverse range of customers in a busy retail environment.

• Previous retail experience.
